I love Depeche Mode. And The Cure. Ah, the early eighties, when I was in college and concerts were CHEAP. ;-)

I am always in a Depeche Mode Mood. DMM--it's an angsty disorder and meds don't help it. "I just can't get enough..."

Ah, and how about "I am the son, and the heir..." with that wafty tune in the back. Sniffle.

Okay Don't know who the smiths were but and I graduated in 84 too lol. But can remeber listening to lots of music while chemically enhanced or maybe organically enhanced too. What a great way of putting it lol.

I'll listen to you talk music whenever, my friend. I breathe music, even when my asthma's not acting up.

The Smiths? Too droning for me. I'm a guitar worshipper. But I respect The Smiths; they did important stuff and helped influence a LOT that followed.
