I agree with Charlene!!

I tend to post some snippets, some banter, and news when it's appropriate. Not much on tips, as I don't feel like I have room to tell anybody how to write.

Congrats on the Samhain sale!

A little bit of everything is good. Whereas I may not be able to comment on a particular story, perhaps a funny anecdote or a piece of writing advice can always be appreciated by anyone. Updates, sneak peeks; those are items people love to see. Makes them feel like they've found a "scoop",. Little scenes written to tease and inspire, only found on a blog. I saw one author do that and it's fun! Actually, enough people made comments about so many areas, she was able to turn it around into an actual short story. It was an unexpected benefit.
Bottom line...you do what makes you happy and what you are inspired to share.
It's not like you don't have anything interesting to say. I've yet to see that happen!
I'm not into Pop Culture as much. I'll be honest about that.
It seems over done. So many blogs have references to PC, which isn't too bad..but many are all out written orgies on the topic. Boring. For me.
If this is a personal blog, than it's what ever pleases you to share with your visiters.
I came to this blog originally to tell you how much I enjoyed your books. I keep coming back because I enjoy what you say.
Isn't that the point?

Good question. I've been pondering the same thing for my own blog. Most advice I've seen is to maintain a central focus, but I don't want to do that. I think for a personal author blog a little of everything is much more inviting. Unless it's an external one, like over at Amazon, then I think focus is appropriate.

It really depends on what the purpose of the blog is, I guess. Up to each individual.

Ditto above. I also like it when authors give their viewpoints on various current affairs.
